Pakistan IT Advancements
Science and technology is a growing field in Pakistan and has played an important role in the country’s development since its founding. Technology, including the IT industry, in Pakistan has enormous potential for growth. Although, Pakistan is considered as an under-developed country, the developments in the field of IT is not as slow as to be considered. Pakistan has a very robust youth population and with enough financial aid and a good environment to work within can create a roadmap towards technological innovations and breakthroughs.
Today, the world is divided into two groups, one group consists of technologically advanced countries and the other is of the backward ones. It is considered that the greatest asset of Pakistan is its manpower especially youth. A quite huge part of Pakistan’s population consists of young people. As young people are more energetic and full of enthusiasm, they can play a huge role in the development of Pakistan.
In 2000-2002 Pakistan has made rapid progress in the IT and telecom sector under professor Atta-ur-Rahman as then federal minister of science and technology. Although, the internet in Pakistan has been available since the early 1990s but in the early 21stcentury it has spread through a vast area of the country. Most internet usage in Pakistan is in English language and to some extent Romanized Urdu. Today, the facility of internet is available in almost every corner of the country. There are internet café in almost every city of Pakistan providing people easy access to internet.
